Lancaster, Pa. (June 8, 2009) – Lancaster-based ARRO, a leading engineering and environmental consulting firm, announced today that Walter Barcz, P.E., was awarded the Pennsylvania Water Environment Association’s (PWEA) Ted Haseltine Award.
The PWEA Ted Haseltine Award is awarded to a member who has made significant contributions to the advancement of knowledge in Pennsylvania’s water quality management field through design or operational work with wastewater treatment processes.
Barcz was recognized for his contributions to Pennsylvania’s water quality management field through his 36 years of wastewater treatment plant design, construction and operation. Barcz’s emphasis has been in conceiving, designing and constructing plant upgrades and expansions while: paying maximum respect to owner investments in existing facilities; identifying ways to build on challenging sites; successfully incorporating innovative designs that extend into unexplored technical areas; and finding and securing financing to achieve project feasibility.
Barcz, a Reading native, who currently resides in Brecknock Township, Berks County, is a graduate of Lehigh University and currently holds engineering licenses in Pennsylvania, Maryland and New Jersey.
